How to brief me

Briefing Justin

Justin works throughout Australia and internationally. He prefers to accept electronic briefs.

Engaging Justin as a Barrister

The first point of contact to engage Justin as counsel is Justin’s clerk, Anna Svenson.  Anna can be contacted via email at clerks@svenson.com.au or you can call her on +61 3 9225 7900.  Anna and her team can assist to make arrangements to discuss your legal issue, or to answer queries about Justin’s fees or availability.

A brief for Justin to advise on a matter should include questions to be answered with any documents that are of significance. If Justin requires further documents, he will make contact to discuss. A brief for an appearance will include the same information as a brief to advise, with the inclusion of an index, observations, chronology, pleadings, any previous advice (from you or another counsel), other decisions related to the matter, and any critical dates and deadlines.

Engaging Justin for an Arbitration

Justin is available to appear as counsel in domestic commercial arbitrations, or domestic arbitrations under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth).  Justin is also available to sit as an arbitrator in commercial arbitrations under the International Arbitration Act 1974 (Cth) and the uniform Commercial Arbitration Acts.  For more information about Justin’s Australian arbitration practice, visit here.

Justin operates his international commercial arbitration practice from Australia and, in that regard, is available to be engaged as a tribunal secretary or arbitrator.
